Dinner in the House of Commons
Cheryl is the Conservative Party's MP for Amersham & Chesham. She served in Cabinet as the Secretary of State for Wales from 2010 to 2012 in David Cameron's Government.
She currently is the Joint Chairman of the Conservative Party's influential 1922 committee and has recently been frequently seen on TV announcing the voting results to be the next Conservative Leader - and thus Prime Minister - culminating with the appointment of Boris Johnson.
She was first elected to the House of Commons in 1992 and was a junior minister for Education and Employment from 1995 to 1997 in John Major's government. After 1997 she served as a Conservative whip and as a spokesperson for Trade and Industry, Foreign Affairs, and Home Affairs. As such she is the longest serving female Conservative MP.
She was awarded a damehood in the New Year's Honours list 2018.
The event commences with a reception on arrival, followed by a three course dinner (naturally accompanied by wine).
