Dinner and tour at the HAC
The HAC is the London home of the Honourable Artillery Company, a charity incorporated by Henry VIII in 1537 whose primary charitable purpose is the support of the Regiment which bears its name. The Regiment are based in Finsbury Barracks which is part of the London estate and is leased by the Company to the MOD.
The HAC Estate consists of Armoury House, an 18th Century mansion brimming with the Company's long and rich history,
Drinks and Dinner will take place in The Queen’s Room which has very high ceilings and huge windows looking out on to the Artillery Grounds.
The evening will begin with drinks followed by a tour of the House. Michael Grant will be our ‘tour guide’ and is President of the BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT and a Past Clerk and Master of the WCIT, The Information Technologists’ City Livery Company. He has been a member of the HAC since leaving school and during the tour will give us some insight into the history and stories of the House.
For the past twelve years Michael has been a Member of the Company of Pikemen & Musketeers of the HAC, the ceremonial Body Guard of the Lord Mayor of London. As a Pikeman he regularly attends State and Civic events in Mansion House and the Guildhall and will include in the tour a visit to the rarely visited Armoury.
